DRINKING FRESH FRUIT AND VEGETABLE JUICE TO REDUCE ACNE
These days it seems to be part of the human condition to want the quick fix. This is true in all areas of our lives from fast food, mobile phones so that people can contact us wherever we are, as well as pills for all kinds of aches, pains and illnesses. This quick fix, fast food attitude is slowly destroying our health. Unfortunately this mentality is ingrained into our life style. Did you now we didn’t use to be this way, all these chronic diseases that plague our health did not exist a few hundred years ago. The food we eat is actually creating these diseases, the animal centered meals we eat, combined with the vast number of process foods we consume is not how we are supposed to eat. Food is supposed to be healing, beneficial and a natural body cleanse.
It was over 2,000 years ago that the Greek Physician, Hippocrates said:
LET FOOD BE THY MEDICINE AND MEDICINE BE THY FOOD.
However, we seem to be living by a slightly different motto, perhaps:
LET DRUGS BE THY MEDICINE AND JUNK BE THY FOOD.
This all comes back to an attitude of not thinking about the consequences of our actions, looking for quick fixes and generally not taking responsibility for our own lives. In many ways, this is understandable. We are being bombarded with advertisements for all sorts of products and encouraged to live for today without any thought for tomorrow.
A more recent saying, popularized in the early 1900s states:
YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT.
This is pretty simple stuff, yet so many of us simply don’t want to accept this. In many respects, junk food tastes pretty good. But even the name tells us a bit about it, junk food. Can it really be good for us? I’ll let you make up your own mind. It’s pretty obvious though that something is going on. Obesity levels across the Western world continue to rise. Only a fool would suggest that our modern diets aren’t the major contributing factor. We now eat far more meat and dairy products that at any time in our history.
In many ways it is seen as anti-American to criticize meat consumption. But this kind of attitude doesn’t get us anywhere. We simply have to look at the facts. Diseases such as cancer, heart disease and diabetes are ravaging the U.S. at present and most of us are looking towards drugs and surgery to save us. To be frank, this is stupidity. Why not take responsibility for our own well being and to paraphrase Hippocrates, let food be our medicine?
After learning about how fresh fruits and vegetables are so full of vitamins and minerals, I started to eat more of them. To be honest though, it’s quite hard to actually eat a lot of fruit in one day. About this time, I discovered some juicer reviews on the internet and realized that I could drink my way through much more fruit and vegetables than I could hope to eat in one day.
In my case, there have been so many positive health benefits that I’ve noticed since I started eating more healthily. For a start, I have much more energy throughout the day. Another huge benefit has been that my skin condition has got much better. I used to think that some people just got acne and that there was not much we could do about it other than trying to keep our skin clean and just wait it out. Will, eating more fruit and vegetables help every acne sufferer? I don’t know the answer to that.
However, in my case, I know for a fact that the only thing I’ve been doing differently is eating, and drinking, well. My skin is continuing to become much clearer. This is not something that doctors advocate, but so what. Try it for yourself, you might like the results!
